Biography Born in Newark, NJ, Marc Ribot studied with Frantz Casseus before moving to New York in the late 70s. He performed as a sideman in a number of downtown Jazz groups before joining John Lurie's The Lounge Lizards in the mid 80s. It was during this period that Marc Ribot found himself working with musicians as diverse as Tom Waits, Elvis Costello and Roy Nathanson's group, The Jazz.
On Saints, Mr. Ribot, 47, has gone back to the understated, contemplative style of his release Don't Blame Me. It's the kind of record that should be heard by no more than one person at a time".
