It was produced by Mike Elizondo and mixed in New York City by noted engineer Andy Wallace. Nightmare is the first Avenged Sevenfold recorded without James "The Rev" Sullivan performing drums on all the songs due to his death in December .

Oct 14, · Natural Born Killers is the next track however I feel it’s probably the weakest song on the album. It’s not bad by any means but I feel the lyrics are a bit unfocused and while Avenged Sevenfold have always had vague lyrics it mostly feels poetic and to ultimate message is clear.
It's actually rather simple. Natural born killer is a nod at the film "natural born killers" Basically he's just talking about how killing is compulsive for him, the idea brought from the film that it possibly isn't his fault it's just who he is, he was born to kill.
